Small Bathrooms: Selecting Bathtubs, Showers and Vanities

Many people who live in smaller homes or apartments have to struggle finding furniture and fixtures that make their space more liveable. This is especially the case when it comes to small bathrooms. Since most bathrooms are built to accomadate standard bathroom fixtures, most manufacturers make common items like toilets, showers, and bathtubs in common sizes. For example the average size of a bathtub or shower bathtub combination is 5 feet in length. For someone whose bathroom is only 4 feet wide this creates a major problem. Fortunately there are many companies out there that have begun making custom bathroom fixtures to accomodate this exact situation. Small bathtubs, narrow vanities and many other fixtures are now readily available in many areas where living space is at a premium. Here are a couple tips for consumers looking to select a small bathtubs, small showers, and small vanities:

* Have an accurate measurement of your bathroom space.
* Stick to your budget.
* Get several estimates.
* Check references.

These are mostly common sense tips but it never hurts to be reminded of them. The key point is that you should be doing this everytime! Too often we know what to do but just don't actually put it into practice. So when you are looking for fixtures for your small bathroom, make sure you follow through!
